An Intimate Lunch Wedding at Coohills Restaurant in Downtown Denver

Today I'm excited to share Laura and Jake’s intimate lunch wedding that took place at Coohills Restaurant in downtown Denver, Colorado last fall.

The beginning of the day was so relaxed.

The day was beautiful with overcast skies which was perfect after a string of hot days leading up to it. They opted to spend their morning together and got ready side by side at the Thompson Hotel. When they were done, we walked from the hotel to their venue so we could stop along the way for photos. We captured some iconic Denver backgrounds including Union Station, and it was a lovely and relaxed way to spend time before the ceremony. I always think it’s a great idea to get some or all portraits done prior to the ceremony so my couple can fully enjoy their post-ceremony events. It’s also an awesome way to ease into the day. Getting to giggle and goof around with your partner helps release some of the pressure from all of the anticipation.

Exchanging vows in the perfect downtown setting.

When we got to the venue, we quickly covered family photos and then took a little time to recenter before the ceremony. The Jake and Laura exchanged their vows on the Wynkoop Street Railroad Bridge, right outside the restaurant. It was a simple and intimate ceremony that perfectly captured their love for each other.

After the ceremony, the duo sat down inside and took a quiet moment alone to read the vows they'd written each other. They both read in silence while holding hands, and they each took turns glancing at each other with knowing smiles and deep adoration. It's tender moments like these that bring me so much fulfillment. Even though I've been doing this for years, I am still in awe of how many of these moments I get to witness and hold, and I am in never-ending gratitude that my couples put their trust into me and are willing to share these vulnerable sides of themselves.

Fine dining and an inviting atmosphere at Coohills Restaurant.

Toasts and merriment took place on the patio, and afterwards, everyone settled inside for a mouthwateringly delicious lunch and engaging conversations. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for this special occasion. Every detail was stunning including the gorgeously plated dishes from the chefs at Coohills.
The boundless love, the good company, the fine food and the beautiful little details made for an unforgettable experience. I don’t photograph a lot of lunch weddings, but I have to say, I would love to do more! It was perfect.

Cheers,

Savannah
