First of all, what is an engagement shoot?

You’ve likely seen them before. Your friend is engaged, and suddenly you see some professional photos of him or her looking real cute with their significant other on social media. But, engagement photos are so much more than having a nice photo for your online presence!

I am a sound believer in doing an engagement session, and here are a few reasons WHY:

Engagement Sessions are an excellent way to RECONNECT with your partner!
We’ll disconnect from our phones for an hour or two, and suddenly, you’ll find yourself reconnecting with your partner. The busyness of your day-to-day lives will fade away, and once again, you’ll find yourself focused on the powerful love you have for your better half! It’s a wonderful experience.
Create the PERFECT date night!
Beyond reconnecting and being more present with your partner during the session, you’ll also have an absolute blast. I really focus on playful engagement shoots, and I give you prompts that reflect that. You’ll find yourselves giggling, a lot. My goal for your shoot isn’t just some nice photos. I also want you to create a new memory! Your session shouldn’t feel like another item on your checklist that needs to be done, it should be full of so much laughter and goofiness that it won’t feel like work at all.
Get comfortable in FRONT of the camera!
I would say that there is a noticeable difference between my clients who do an engagement session with me before their wedding and those who don’t. Believe me, I will still take amazing photos of you on your wedding day. But, because you haven’t already been in front of my camera, it will take a little time for you to get into the swing of things. As we know, time is of the essence on your wedding day since it will absolutely fly by, and I want to milk it for all it’s worth! If we have already done an engagement shoot, you’ll go into your wedding day knowing exactly what to expect from me. Ultimately, everything will flow more naturally and comfortably during your day because you are already familiar with how I work.
BONUS: Professional photos of the two of you!
The actual photos aren’t the main focus of an engagement shoot, but they are definitely the cherry on top! Once you’ve done your session with me, you’ll have some gorgeous photos to enjoy of the two of you. Perhaps some will end up online to share with your family and friends. Perhaps a few will end up in a frame over your mantle. Don’t forget that they can also be used for wedding invites and guest books! Whatever the case may be, you’ll have some photos to celebrate such an important chapter in your life, even before the wedding itself. If it were up to me, I’d have people documenting every moment EVER, big and small, because I think photographs are a true treasure to have. As memories fade, photographs step in to remind you of those cherished moments in time. An engagement session is an excellent way to cherish your boo forever and ever and ever!
DOUBLE BONUS: We get to explore the stunning scenery of our BEAUTIFUL COLORADO
We will explore the epic scenery that this state has to offer whether it’s in the mountains or through the city. I love photographing my couples in this state because inevitably the pictures are so darn pretty. Colorado just never fails to awe.
