Carly and Chris' Intimate Microwedding at Sapphire Point Overlook
An Intimate Wedding Overlooking Lake Dillon at Sapphire Point
I photographed Chris and Carly’s intimate wedding ceremony at Sapphire Point Overlook and their reception at Aurum Breckenridge in September. It was beautiful and SO much fun! They invited a small, very special group of people - every person present at the wedding was so genuine and warm. That paired with the awe-inspiring scenery at Sapphire Point Overlook made for an incredible wedding day.
All About Carly And Chris
Carly and Chris both are extremely talented designers and artists. They own a home in Denver that they put all the design touches on, and it is just incredible! I had the opportunity to see their gorgeous home when we did engagement photos. They've been together a long time and have such a caring attitude toward each other. They make each other laugh ALL the time which, in my opinion, is a such an important quality to find in a partner. They also have a pup named Tucker who is an oldie with a super sweet soul and loving eyes. Check out the engagement session here!
A Perfect Fall Wedding Day
On their wedding day, Carly and Chris got ready at separate Airbnbs that were both cute and cozy. They had great mountain getaway vibes which made perfect backdrops for the getting ready photos. I recommend to all my couples that they get ready at different locations but try to keep them close by, if possible. Airbnbs are great places to get ready because they are curated and have character which makes for unique pre-ceremony photos.
Carly originally found a stunning gown on BHLDN for her wedding, but they emailed her saying they were no longer shipping it and didn't offer her an alternative solution. Carly is quite resourceful - she found the exact same gown gently used from another bride in town. The bonus? It had pockets, too!
At Carly and Chris’ wedding, there were approximately 20 guests. Since it was an intimate affair, I loved the fact that they had more time to mingle with everyone. It was an unbelievable fall day, and the colors of the foliage were changing. It was so fulfilling to be among nature and witness the sweeping views during the ceremony at the Sapphire Point Overlook. It was a sweet ceremony with lots of giggles and a few tears of joy, and both Carly’s brother and Chris’ two brothers officiated which added an even more personal touch.
After the ceremony, Carly and Chris hopped into the limo and drove around for a few more portraits before heading to the restaurant. Aurum is an incredible restaurant in Breckenridge, and if you’re ever visiting, I highly recommend checking it out. They focused on enjoying their guests' company during their reception and had a wildly fun party. There was a first dance, cake cutting, and a few toasts. Chris' mom made the cake, and Carly hand dip-dyed the napkins. It was a beautiful personal touch.
It was the open dance part of the night, and I looked over to see that there were three couples dancing, Carly and Chris, Carly's parents, and Chris' parents. It wasn't at all planned, and it was such a delight to see all of them sharing such an intimate moment side by side.
Carly and Chris, you two are kind and beautiful inside out. Photographing your wedding was an honor. I want to thank you two for trusting me with your wedding photography and allowing me in on such a special and intimate wedding! I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
Xoxo,
Savannah
