Looking Back At 2021 - What a Year!

Well, we made it!

With 2021 coming to a close, I thought I’d take a moment to look back at the wildly wonderful year that was 2021. While it was still challenging, I was very fortunate to attend 28 magical weddings. It was definitely crazy, and there were a few times where I felt like pulling my hair out juuuuusssst a bit, BUT I was so grateful to be back doing what I adore, celebrating love behind my camera. With the many cancelled and postponed weddings of 2020, I welcomed the hard work that was necessary to serve my clients this year. It was even more gratifying this year because we all gained incredible new perspectives about what’s really important to us. After a full year of not seeing those we cared about, the weddings I attended were even more special than before. People were over-the-moon to see one another again, and their smiles were a mile wide and their happy tears were abundant.

Here are a few highlights from the year! Thank you to all of the wonderful couples who included me this year. I can’t wait to keep the party going in 2022.

Much love,

Savannah

Wedding season kicked off with the party of all parties at Nick and Kelly's Estes Park wedding, one of my first maskless events as people were finally able to get vaccinated. They married at the YMCA of the Rockies and celebrated their reception at the The Barrel, a brewery in town. People were ECSTATIC to finally be able to gather again.

Bri and Kelton ended the night in style, leaving in a stretch limo at Balistreri Vineyards in Brighton, Colorado.

Amanda and Matt were married at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, Colorado on a gorgeous summer day.

Lauren and Brenan were married with sweeping mountain views behind them at North Star Gatherings less than an hour from Denver.

Mac and Erica had an elegant backyard wedding in Denver with an unbelievably beautiful dinner table by Eclectic Elegance by Lisa. The forecast was dry but the weather had other plans, and it rained for a bit during dinner. However, no spirits were dampened at the joy-filled and heartfelt event!

Jacq and Brad celebrated their reception at the City Park Golf Course, and we had a magical moment when some birds flew behind them with the Denver skyline in the background.

Callie and Kyle were married at the Washington Park Boathouse. Even though it was October, the flowers were still abundant. These two are incredibly creative. The groom even learned how to DJ for the wedding, and the dance floor was going strong late into the night!

Married couple smiles at each other overlooking the pretty scenery at Sapphire Point near Breckenridge, Colorado.

A blue jay swooped through during photos at Sapphire Point Overlook with Carly and Chris. They were married in the fall when the colors were peaking in Breckenridge, and it was absolutely beautiful.

Isabel and James exchanged vows on THE coldest day of the year at 1C Barn in Colorado Springs. It was -1 degrees Fahrenheit! It was cold outside, but they stayed cozy and warm inside with family and friends.

After Kaliena and Jacob’s wedding, we dropped by The Lumber Baron Inn and Gardens in Denver for some photos. It’s SUCH a cool space, I want to do more shoots there!

Katie and Ryan enjoyed an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends at Hermit Park Open Space near Estes Park, Colorado.

Wind blows around a couple standing in tall grass as they laugh during their wedding portrait session.

Andrea and Kalen were married in an intimate backyard wedding in Lakewood, Colorado. They created one of the most gorgeous arches I’ve seen for their ceremony!

Anna and Robert were married at Willow Ridge Manor in Morrison, Colorado. It was one of those epic summer days with deep, moody skies, beautiful sunlight peaking through, and lush greens all around (my favorite conditions, especially when paired with red rocks!)

Travis and Greg had an intimate and beautiful wedding at the Trading Post at Red Rocks Ampitheatre.

Couple sharing a sweet moment and giggling about something between the two of them.

Ramya and Tevis married at their newly built home in the mountains just outside Boulder. It was very special to see them take another step in building their relationship at the house they’d worked so hard to turn into a home.

Maddie and Tyler flew in from Texas to elope near Chautauqua in Boulder, Colorado with a tight-knit group of friends and family in attendance.

Nicole and Brian came in from New York to celebrate their wedding near Nicole’s grandma’s house in La Porte, Colorado. They were married at Tapestry House by Wedgewood Weddings. During their first look, Brian was overcome with emotion when he first saw Nicole, and it was beautiful! Golden hour was amazing, and their reception was an absolute blast.

Lindsey and Collin were married in downtown Denver at The Curits Hotel, and it was such a cool venue. I love staying in the city for weddings!

Liana and Dan exchanged vows on a perfect fall day at Deer Creek Valley Ranch while their pup looked on.

Valeria and David were married at Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch after patiently waiting a full year past their original wedding date in 2020.

My close friends Whitney and Will eloped without any witnesses at Brainard Lake during Covid in 2020, and I joined them a year later to celebrate their anniversary by taking the wedding photos they’d never gotten.

That’s all, folks! Thanks for dropping by. If you or someone you know is getting married, feel free to reach out as I am still booking for 2022. That said, I only have a few openings left, so don’t hesitate to reach out right away. Enjoy your year, and may you continue to be in good health and happiness!
